One secret to keep from losing
your arrows is to pay careful attention to your line tension meter.
When it goes into the red, the arrow might pull out or worse,
the line might break and you will lose an arrow. With the tension
meter in the red, let the fish take out drag by releasing the
mouse button. Our reels don't really have this "drag out" sound,
but since you can't actually feel the fish in the game, it will
help you tell when a fish is taking out line. |

Though it may seem like it takes
a long time in the game, our reel actually reels in line at 3
feet per second. If you're under attack by a school of hungry
fish, take close shots so you can reel in quickly to defend yourself
and your raft from other attacking fish. |

If you see that you're approaching
"multiple threats" in the river, or "multiple threats"
are approaching you, determine which threat can be killed or
scared to help you make it past that location. Then take your
shots accordingly.

Tropical
Island Survival Tips

Most of the time, fear can help
save a fish. But with the zero drag Retriever
Bowfishing Reel, you can shoot farther than ever.
So don't be afraid to take long shots in the tropical surf to
hit fish or actually shoot past them and scare them closer to
you for a better shot.

We don't recommend shooting
other fish besides what is legal in your area, but keep your eyes
peeled for little targets that scurry about and are normally not
legal to shoot. Remember, you need food to survive. And don't
forget to try some aerial shots for fun - in the game only please.
Never shoot at flying things in the real world unless it's flying
fish. |

Play Tips

If you're in the World Record
mode, take a good look at the school of fish before you shoot.
Like in the real world, one fish will be bigger and weigh more
than the others. |

Like in the real world, fish
in the game will "dive deeper" for safety when they hear your
outboard or your arrow hitting the water. If you spot a real hawg,
wait it out and sneak in for a shot when it comes back up within
shooting range. |

AMS
Bowfishing's
bowfisherman are some of the best in the world and they know when
to wait and aim carefully on an approaching fish and when to snap-shoot
on a departing fish. Same holds true in the game. |

To see a section of the world
you're in, click on the world previews on this page. Be sure
to note the Secret Map Code for each world. When you're back
in the game, press "/" while viewing your map then type in the
secret code and you will see a section of the map.

Unlock the Underwater Cheat
Code and become "Aquaman". The Underwater Cheat Code allows you
to walk and breathe under water without drowning. Press "/" while
viewing your map then type in "Aquaman". |
