AMS Bowfishing Big 30 Challenge Rules
Rules will be strictly enforced!
1. BAA membership is not required, but strongly encouraged
2. Each team must have proper fishing license. Kentucky or Indiana.
3. Proper boat registration numbers and papers.
4. Each boat must have the following safety equipment. (Proper running lights, fire extinguisher, horn or whistle, life jackets for each individual in the boat, one throwable, and any fan boats or airboats must have shroud protecting the fan blades.
5. No alcoholic beverages during tournament hours.
6. Trailering will be allowed. 7pm departure time from the Mead County Fairgrounds. Teams leave according to pre-registering in 20 second intervals.
7. Scouting is allowed, however any boat that is on the water with bows, arrows, gaffs, nets, or gigs 24 hrs prior to the start of the tournament will be disqualified.
8. Legal species: Bighead, Buffalo Carp, Silver Carp, Common Carp, Gar, and Grass Carp. NO PADDELFISH or CATFISH.
9. Winner will be determined by the total weight of their 30 largest fish. No culling at weigh in, teams are responsible to have their 30 biggest fish ready to be weighed.
10. All boats will be inspected before the start of the tournament.
11. Each team will be given two tokens with their team number on it. Team captains must return one token to a staff member at the entrance of Mead County Fairgrounds by 8:00am. Any teams that hand in a token after 8:00 will be disqualified. The other token will be given to a staff member at your teams weigh in.
12. Single gaffs will be allowed in boats the night of the tournament for landing big fish. No nets, snares or gigs are allowed.
13. Any team that receives a citation from the State Fish and Game Department will be automatically disqualified.
14. Teams must respect others on the water. No crowding and no harassing other teams.
15. Absolutely no teaming up, no buddy buddy system, and no transferring of fish from one boat or vehicle to another.
16. The top five team’s fish will be kept separate. Inspection of the fish may include re-weighing, or opening of the fish for inspection. Polygraph will be on site.
17. The decision of the tournament results will be final.
18. Failure to comply with tournament rules will result in disqualification and entry fee will be forfeited.
19. Team cancelation request must be received 72hrs in advance of the start of the tournament.
21. If your team leaves before weigh in they must return team token numbers in drop box back at Mead County Fairgrounds. All teams need to be accounted for after the tournament for safety reasons.
22. Fish disposal available at weigh in. PLEASE NO DUMPPING OF FISH BACK IN WATER.. No emptying of dirty water on land or at weigh in site. Let’s keep the area clean.
